Orphanage-Rocky Point Mexico-PART 1

Esperanza Orphanage-Rocky Point, Mexico

The day after Christmas I went with Logan's family to an Orphanage down in Rocky Point, Mexico. For the past 5-8 years his family give this Orphanage Christmas the day after Christmas. THEY are the little kids CHRISTMAS and what they get for Christmas all comes from what we bring down to them. They fill up one of there cars with food and presents for each kid and than we spend the day at the Orphanage. It was an awesome experience and very very neat and an eye opener to see truly how fortnute we are... even though we may not think so. Logan and I got to play Santa this year to 34 children and we got to call off each kids name and hand each kid a big black garbage bag full of wrapped presents (toys, socks, underwear, and an outfit or two.) Each kid waited patiently for all the other children to get there bags and than they all opened them at once. Than we all spend the day helping each kid set up there new toys or play with there new toys, play board games, take pictures ect... The only hard part was not being able to understand or speak spanish... Each of these little children were esatic with the very little that they got. It was sad to see each of these kids without a family, with so little to play with and such a small place as there living quarters...BUT, it brought big smiles to your face to see how grateful and happy they were, each one of the kids would just keep giving you hugs and had the BIGGEST smiles on there face the entire day! It was an amazing experience and makes you feel so good inside knowing how much you did to make these kids have a Christmas! I am really happy that I got to have this experience!

(A little background about the Orphanage and Organization- Logans mom took into her hands giving them Christmas every year. She makes sure they have lots of food to eat and takes down as much as she can to stock up there kitchen. In Mexico when you are in the Orphanage you can not be adopted out, so once these kids are in there they are in there until they are of age to leave... One of the reasons they cant adopt them out is because you have to have there parents sign for it and most of the time you can't find there parents, there parents are in jail, parents beat them..therefore they don't want them to be adopted out..so forth (very sad) The owners treat each kid equally and treat them all as if they were there very own child.)

**Pictures (overload)**

*This is the Orphanage...The first picture is where the kitchen and play area are..along with some bedrooms.. the second one is all rooms and bedrooms.*
*This is the owners family. The owners are in the back and they have 4 kids that are in the orphanage with them. They have a little house off to the side that the two parents and any volunteers they have stay in... They make there children sleep with all the other Orphanage kids so that they dont feel like there more special than any of the other children. I think thats a really neat how they do that, they dont favor there children over the 30 that are there with them.*

*This little boy was the newest addition to the Orphanage. He got there a week before Christmas so he was new to the whole Orphanage thing... Being there was 5 new kids since the time that Logans mom had talked to the Orphanage last she didn't have bags made up for these kids so we took a couple gifts out of other kids bags and made up some more bags for the new kids... After they all opened there gifts and all the kids were playing with there new toys this little boy was just sitting on the couch with his head down. (It was very very sad to see) So Logan and his brother grabbed two more wrapped toys and brought them over to him and had him open them, he instantly was happy once we started playing with him and he had friends and toys :)*

(The bags full of presents that each kid got)

*This little girl was probably my favorite one... she was so dang cute and always wanted to be around all of us. She kept stealing Logans sunglasses out of his pocket and putting them on. She would sneak up behind him and get them and than when he would turn around she was playing with his glasses on*

* All the older kids thought this was the neatest toy ever.. its one of those skateboard type things and you have to keep your balance as you go across the floor... Needless to say all the owners were very nervous!! ha*

*These girls are the older ones of the group... One is 16 and one is 17... Both of them got magazines and books in spanish in there bags (One of them got the Twlight book in Spanish :)) anyways.. it was awesome to see that out of everything they got they instantly started reading there books and didn't even bother to play with there toys first.. both of these girls read almost the entire time. Just shows how appreciative they were for a few small books and thats all they wanted to do is READ!*

Sorry about all the pictures, but there definetly worth seeing and seeing all of the Orphanage kids! They LOVED getting pictures taken because its not everyday they get there picture taken like we do!!
